MBTI Test, MBTI Personality Test

>> Home / MBTI / The 8 Preferences / MBTI Test

The MBTI Test is one of the most widely used personality assessments in the world. The MBTI was developed by Isabel Briggs Myers and her month, Katharine Cook Briggs. The two collaborated to develop a tool that would put practical use of C.G. Jung's (1875 - 1961) work on psychological types. Jung was a Swiss psychiatrist who wrote the title Psychological Types.

The MBTI test used today is the Step II test. It is offered in 144 questions that are word associations and simple questions. Most can complete the test in 20 minutes. It is recommended that you take the MBTI naturally, answer honestly and complete the test undisturbed.

The most popular uses of the MBTI test are:

  • Team Building
  • Organization development
  • Management and leadership training
  • Self-understanding and developments
  • Career development and exploration
  • Problem solving
  • Relationship counseling
  • Education and curriculum development
  • Academic counseling
  • Diversity and multicultural training

After more than 50 years of research and development, the current MBTI Test is the most widely used instrument for understanding normal personality differences. Over 2 million people take the MBTI Test each year.
